« A Lady in White »

As for me,when we first saw this house, I thought it was such a blessing. My family and I just
moved here from Texas in 1996, and had only been "house hunting" for 3 days when we stumbled
upon this one. A quaint, modest, 3 bdrm. 1 bath with a den. Built in the 1960's, it was in a
residential cul-de-sac, with elderly neighbors all around it. It was perfect! But within the first
weeks of living there, we found out that the house offered more than we ever could imagine. It
was a home for someone or something other than our family. It's own residual ghost as we now
know.

My 17 year old son and myself found this out first hand. We were sitting on the couch late one
night, watching TV, when out of the corner of my eye I noticed something move in the hallway....As
I focused my eyes to the darkness of the hallway (which was the opposite wall of the TV, so I knew
it couldn't be the lighting), I saw the form of a lady, wearing a white gown; nothing fancy, just an
ordinary ole house gown, standing there, motionless, like she was surprised to see us! As I tried
to muster the courage to admit what I was really seeing, my son grabbed my hand and startled me
back to reality. As I turned and looked at my son, his eyes were glued to the hallway as well. I
couldn't believe it! "Do you see that, Son?" I almost screamed it! He looked at me and replied,
"Yes, and I hope you did too!" He said it with a shakiness in his voice that instantly gave me cold
chills. But as fast as we looked back to the hallway, she was gone. We both sat on that couch for
hours, almost afraid to move, for fear that she would return. But she didn't. And the biggest fear
of all, was knowing that she could return, anytime she wanted.
